We welcome school groups of any age to visit and enjoy the atmosphere of an upland Shropshire farm of the Victorian era. We have several exhibitions, displays of farm equipment and traditional farm animals which will help children learn about times gone by. Groups can take advantage of 23 acres of farmland, visit the bailiff's cottage, milk Clover, our replica cow, see the horses at work and admire our free-ranging farm animals.
Under the schools booking information section you'll find general and booking information, including booking forms, as well as a general visit risk assessment and guidance notes for lead teachers.
Some education sessions have their own risk assessment and some also have a presentation - both available to download from the relevant education level page.
We provide educational programmes for schools which increase children's understanding of the natural and historical world through first-hand experience.
The learning team at Shropshire Museums and Archives offer learning opportunities at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, Ludlow Museum Resource Centre and Shropshire Archives. We also offer an outreach and a loan box service. Download our full schools’ workshop programme or click on the options below to see the variety of courses available.
