What happens if my free school meal benefit entitlement stops?

Universal free school meals

Your child’s entitlement to universal free school meals will continue until they enter Year 3 of school; you may need to reapply after this time if you believe you meet the eligible criteria.

Government free school meals

If your free school meal benefit entitlement stops, and you don't believe it should have, contact us straight away. If you’re no longer eligible for free school meals due to a change in your qualifying benefit you'll have to make alternative arrangements for your child(ren)'s meals. If you fail to let us know, you may be charged for the full cost of any school meals taken by your child or children from the date your benefit stopped.
