A carer is anybody that provides regular support to a family member, friend, or neighbour.

From April 2015, the needs of carers will be recognised in the same way as those that they care for. This is a result of the Care Act which introduces new legal rights for carers that may have needs as a direct result of providing ‘necessary’ care for an adult.

A carer provides ‘necessary’ care only if the cared for adult is incapable of meeting such needs themselves. For information on how the Care Act will affect your rights as a carer, please refer to the factsheet outlining the law for carers on the gov.uk website

For information around the new eligibility threshold for carers, please see the guidance on our website.

We are now reviewing our current care services and require feedback from carers to inform this. We would like you to consider whether you achieve a variety of ‘outcomes’ outside of your caring role. We would also like you to tell us about aspects of daily living that you believe to be important but that may be impacted upon as a result of providing necessary care to an adult.

Please note this is a Shropshire Council questionnaire and is not the ‘Survey of Adult Carers in England’.

Click on the 'How to get involved' tab at the top of this content to access our survey.

If you care for multiple people, please provide answers about your relationship with one individual.

Click on the green button below to access our short survey to help us understand carer's requirements. This should only take a few minutes to complete, depending how much detail you provide. It will open in a separate window so you can refer back to this page if you need to.
