Have your say in how we take your services forward...

Sure Start Children’s Centres are looking at our priorities for 2014-2015. We think they should be:

  • To increase the number of families that use Sure Start Children’s Centres
  • To make sure that families get extra support when they need it most
  • To support babies and children’s learning and development, and help parents, carers and others to do this
  • To involve you more in developing Children’s Centre services to meet the needs of those of your community
  • To encourage healthy lifestyles and support families to keep themselves safe and healthy

We have a short survey where you can let us know what you think about these priorities and we encourage as many people to get involved as possible.  Click on the get involved tab to let us know what you think.

You put our priorities in the following order of  importance to you and your families:

  1. To make sure that families get extra support when they need it most
  2. To support babies and children’s learning and development, and help parents, carers and others to do this
  3. To encourage healthy lifestyles and support families to keep themselves safe and healthy
  4. To increase the number of families that use Sure Start Children’s Centres
  5. To involve families more in developing Children’s Centre Services to meet the needs of those of your community

Other suggestions made will feed into the development and planning of services including:

  • More information, courses and sessions for families around children's learning and development, healthy lifestyles and family safety.
  • Further development of our Parent Representatives and Community Champions to provide a clear role in how parents and carers can become more involved in their local community.
  • Further development of our digital media and website.
  • Continue to provide free groups and activities for families with young children all year round to help children to have a safe, happy and healthy family life.
