Title of Scheme

The Tannery Car Park, Shrewsbury – Changes to Charges

Description

Shropshire Council is proposing to make an order to change tariffs and increase the number of parking bands in The Tannery Car Park for a trial period.

This will allow wider choice for stay periods in this premium location, offer a clear linear pricing structure and offers a marginal reduction in the two hour charge from Monday to Saturday.

The aim is to monitor use and feedback on a linear parking structure at this temporary car park.

In addition as a trial, the option to pay by cash will be removed and payment for parking will only be available for customers who are registered or register with the council’s current  ‘cashless parking provider’ through MIPermit.

Customers wishing to use this car park and method of payment of the daily parking charge will be required on first use, to supply the ‘cashless parking provider’ with the relevant registration number of the vehicle, location code of the parking place, credit or debit card details or any other details the council or provider may from time to time require which is accepted by the council as a valid method of payment for the relevant time of use of the parking place.

A service charge currently set at 10p and known as the ‘convenience charge’ will be payable by the customer for using the service provided by the ‘cashless parking provider’ in addition to the appropriate daily charge set by the council. Other charges may be applied should the customer wish to purchase any additional services offered by the ‘cashless parking provider’. The customer will be responsible for all additional costs with their service provider of their phone or other suitable electronic means used in any transactions relating to purchases from the ‘cashless parking provider’.
