Newsflash: Waste collection dates - May bank holidays 2017

A reminder that we have two bank holidays coming up. Find out how this affects your collection service.

HRC Information

Household recycling centres (HRCs) are provided for local residents to drop off a wide range of recycling and items which are too big for the collection service. They're open from 9am-5pm everyday. Use our 'Household recycling centres' page to find your nearest.

Please note - It is an offence under Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to bring waste from a business into these sites.

There are separate containers for recycling at all of the sites, so to help us maximise recycling and minimise congestion please separate your recycling before you come to the site.  You can recycle 30 different types of material at our HRCs.

For local residents visiting the site in a car there are no restrictions on access. However entry permits are required for vans and commercial type vehicles and for most types of trailers.

  • You need to apply in advance for a permit and (if your application is accepted) we will post out up to 12 permits a year.
  • You need to show your permit to the site attendant when you arrive at the site or you will be turned away.
  • Residents from outside Shropshire are not allowed to use the HRCs.
  • Businesses are not allowed to use our HRCs.

Asbestos

If you are planning to bring household asbestos into any of the sites you must contact us in advance.

Construction waste

We only accept small amounts of construction waste (from domestic DIY activities only).  If you are carrying out building work or producing large amounts of waste you will need to hire a skip.
