Description

 

The reduction in the speed limit to 30mph along the B4380 Oteley Road, B3480 Thieves Lane, A458 Wenlock Road, Sutton Road, Weeping Cross roundabout circularity carriageway and the A458 is to reinforce the appropriate speed of travel throughout the route. There have been a large number of residential and commercial developments constructed within this area in recent years, and this speed reduction will facilitate and improve safety for vehicular traffic and all road users.

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF SHREWSBURY & ATCHAM) (NO. 1) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2006 (AMENDMENT NO. ) ORDER


Shropshire Council proposes to place a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Shrewsbury:

The entirety of B4380 Oteley Road

That length of Sutton Road from its junction with Oteley Road to a point 31 metres in a northerly direction from that junction.

Extension of the existing 30mph speed limit along that length of the A458 Wenlock Road from a point 55 metres south-east of its junction with Kingston Drive to its junction with Weeping Cross Roundabout.

The whole of Weeping Cross Roundabout

That length of A458 from its junction with Weeping Cross Roundabout to a point 12 metres in a southernly direction from that junction.

That length of B4380 Thieves Lane from its junction with Weeping Cross Roundabout to a point 10 metres in an easterly direction from that junction.

Any existing speed limits at these locations will be revoked, with the exception of the length of National Speed Limit on that length of B4380 Thieves Lane from its junction with Thieves Lane Roundabout to a point 10 metres in an easterly direction from its junction with Weeping Cross Roundabout.
