Budget reductions, part of the overall spending pressures on Shropshire Council, require a minor adjustment in opening hours at Idsall Sports Centre to enable management of the facility to transfer to Idsall School.

We are seeking people’s views on the proposed revised opening hours and inviting them to suggest another option. It is planned that changes will be in place from April 2016.

Our current opening hours are:

The proposal is to reduce opening hours to 40 hours a week (currently 47 hours) if the option detailed below is implemented it will result in no term time public use of the centre during the school day.

A final decision on the option following the consultation, will be made by the Portfolio Holder: Leisure and Culture at a decision making session.

Following the consultation period and further discussions with centre staff and Idsall School, it's been decided to delay the transfer until January 2017 at the earliest. In the meantime, opening hours will remain as they are currently.
